Gui Gu Qu Society

Gui Gu Qu Society is part of Gui Gu Society's cultural practice, connecting traditional arts with real-world community through Kunqu singing, recitation, textual study and gatherings.

A sung phrase, a dramatic text, a gesture or a vocal technique can be a starting point. We approach Kunqu through shared listening, learning and practice, with practitioners and learners contributing their knowledge and experience.

Guqin is our starting point; Kunqu and traditional Chinese music extend that practice into a wider cultural field. Together, we seek to understand, reflect on and carry forward these living traditions.
